Elementary School Program

Local Soccer Club and Schools Partnering

Partnering and forging relationships with Community groups is one of the strategic pillars to running any successful business in today’s world. The Abbotsford Magnuson Ford Soccer Club is no different. The Club, in partnership with the Abbotsford District School Board, has started its “AFTER SCHOOL SOCCER PROGRAM” in elementary schools throughout the District. The program offers quality training in a fun focused environment to students Kindergarten through to Grade 5 at an affordable rate of $25 per 5-week program.

Last Spring, the Club operated in 5 elementary schools, Auguston, Ten Broeck, Prince Charles, Thomas Swift and Terry Fox over a 5 week period. The Club has expanded to include South Poplar to the list of schools and as well added another 5-week program block to accommodate the demand from other grades within these schools. To accommodate other schools, the Club is also looking to start a Fall program in September 2013. By all accounts, it’s a very successful program with participation from over 100 students. The training is 1 day per week for a 5 or 10 week program. Each session is designed to teach the player on how to pass, dribble, shoot or control the ball. Physical literacy exercises such as catching, twisting, bending, running and jumping are also introduced throughout the program to improve one’s agility, balance, coordination and speed. To do this, all sessions are fun focused games to bring out the best of the each player and delivered by qualified coaching staff from the Magnuson Ford Mariners FC.
