Special Olympics Tournament A HUGE Success

The Abbotsford Soccer Association proudly takes a hosting role in an annual Special Olympics Soccer Tournament at Bateman Park each June.  This year’s tournament was also a provincial tournament where teams had the chance to win their way into a spot in the SO Provincials.  There was a great deal of excitement and buzz in the air throughout the weekend.  A total of 22 teams, their coaches, managers and fans all enjoyed the beauty of the park and a wonderfully run tournament.

Many thanks to the Special Olympics organizers, the volunteers, and the many ASA volunteers and referees who gave of their time over this beautiful weekend to make this tournament another great hit with the players, coaches, and the hundreds of visitors to our community and Bateman Park in particular.

Below are many of the referees who volunteered their time and expertise to help make this special weekend a little more special for the many participants and their families.  Well done, everyone.
